Welcome To Vale - Callum Guy and Chris Eagles

11 January 2017

We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielders Callum Guy and Chris Eagles.

Callum Guy joins on loan for the rest of the season from Derby County and Chris Eagles joins on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

Callum is a highly rated central midfielder and will look to compete for a place in Michael Brown’s side against MK Dons this weekend.

It won’t be the first time that Callum has been at Vale Park this season, having played in the Checkatrade Trophy against Vale.

Guy played in all three of Derby’s games in the competition and has also made 10 appearances in the Premier League Division One Reserves League this year.

The 20 year-old has impressed this season and was recently named on the bench against West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup.

Chris Eagles took part in a Reserves game yesterday against Bradford, where he assisted the opening three goals in the game.

The midfielder joins Vale with a vast amount of experience in his career, having made just under 75 appearances in the Premier League with Manchester United, Burnley and Bolton Wanderers.

He began his career with Manchester United, where he spent eight years from the age of 14-22, having loan with Watford, Sheffield Wednesday and N.E.C during his time.

Having won promotion with Watford through the play-offs whilst on loan, he was able to re-capture this moment three years later with Burnley, who he signed for in 2008.

Chris then went on to add to his six Premier League appearances which he made with Man Utd when Burnley were promoted.

However, he couldn’t help the Clarets survive relegation and then after another season in the Championship, scoring 11 goals, he attracted interest from Bolton.

Another season in the Prem with the Trotters and two in the Championship brought close he’s time with Bolton as he would go on to play for Blackpool, Charlton, Bury and Accrington Stanley.

Chris will wear the number 44 shirt and Callum will wear number 25.
