Unsurprisingly, Vale started with the same side that beatRotherhamcomprehensively in their last outing – it was the seventh consecutive game the Valiants were unchanged.
Vale looked quite comfortable and extremely organised in the opening minutes of the game, coping well with anything the home side could muster up.
Vale knocked the ball around well when in possession and there always seemed to be a spare Vale shirt when the home side had the ball.

Chris Neal was forced into a save when Onismor Bhasera hit a stinging 25 yard drive, bt it would be wrong to suggest that the home side were on top.
Plymouth ‘keeper Jake Cole got down well to make a one-handed save to keep out an angled shot from Myrie-Williams as Vale looked to get back on level termas.
Alex MacDonald was pulling all of the strings for the home side, often cutting in from the right to cause Vale problems, and he went close with a cross-come-shot which Neal did well to push away.
The visitors managed to work the ball inside thePlymouth18 yard box on several occasions, but instead of attempting to work the ‘keeper, there were guilty of trying to walk it in.
Despite al of Vale’s attacking intentions, goalkeeper Jake Cole had very little to do, with Vale seldom hitting the target.
Cole watched as a 20 yard shot from Louis Dodds lifted over the crossbar and strolled nonchalantly off his line to collect a through ball from Sam Morsy, intended for Tom Pope.
Early on in the second half, Dodds was allowed to turn in the box. Cole made the save, but couldn’t hold on to it, allowing Ashley Vincent the opportunity to shoot, but the winger mis-hit the ball.
Then a free kick at the other end, hit by Wotton wide on the left, evaded everybody, and Neal, unsighted, did well to get down and make the save.
Vale then upped the anti, desperate to find an equaliser, pinning the home side deep inside their own half for a spell.
Vale attempted to change things with a double substitution on 62 minutes. On came Ben Williamson for Dodds and Ryan Burge replaced Chris Shuker in the middle of the park.
